COASTAL PASSAGE COURSES

The Coastal Passage Courses offer a similar learning experience to the Ocean Passage courses, but are planned at a more leisurely pace. They allow for some sailing on the Chesapeake Bay but also include the challenge of a coastal passage in the ocean. These courses are held aboard the classic Swan 48 Patriot and allow students the opportunity to work through all aspects of a coastal voyage while having fun!

Students receive in-depth hands-on instruction while learning coastal navigation skills, weather routing, boat handling, taking a turn at watch, and so much more during the 5-7 day educational adventure.

The Coastal Passage Sailing courses are for sailors interested in further developing their boating skills or mariners just looking for the ultimate hands-on learning vacation. The boat will fully circumnavigate the Delmarva Peninsula on the trip. The boat leaves Annapolis, travels down the Chesapeake Bay and into the Atlantic Ocean. It then proceeds up the Delaware Bay, through the C & D Canal and down the northern Chesapeake back to Annapolis. This trip allows students the ideal introduction to coastal passage as well as piloting busy inland waterways.
